The Policing Commission is intended to further community participation and engagement regarding policing policy and procedure. The Commission may make policy recommendations to the City Council and receive all legally public complaints from the Albany Police Department to determine whether to recommend that such complaints be referred to an outside consultant for investigation consistent with California law.
