This presentation on Mono Lake by the Environmental Concerns Speaker Series delved into its natural and political history, shed light on the ongoing efforts to restore it to a sustainable management level, and discussed its global significance.
Ryan Garrett is the Education Director of the Mono Lake Committee. He first came to the Mono Basin as a senior in high school by participating in the Mono Lake Committee’s Outdoor Education Center program. He became entranced by the area’s natural beauty and captivated by the Mono Lake story. He returned nearly a decade later as an Intern and eventually earned his role as Education Director.
He now educates visitors about the Mono Basin and oversees the Committee’s slew of education offerings.
