In a special election four people are running for the Berkeley City Council District 4 position vacated by Kate Harrison. They are Soli Alpert, Berkeley Rent Stabilization Board vice chair; Elana Auerbach, local community organizer; Rubén Hernández Story, Councilmember Terry Taplin’s chief of staff; and Igor Tregub, climate policy director.

All registered voters in District 4 will receive a ballot in the mail. Register to vote by May 13. The vote-by-mail period opens on April 29 and ends on Election Day, May 28, 2024.

Voters can send their ballots by mail, deliver them to election drop boxes, or visit a vote center in person. Mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day.
