The Criminal Justice and DEI Teams invite you to a showing of “Judging Juries” on Thursday, May 23rd from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88131772900.  This is another eye-opening film by Abby Ginzberg – you may have seen her production, “Barbara Lee: Speaking Truth to Power.”  “Judging Juries,” a 2024 film, tells the story of our biased jury system, how it becomes biased and why it stays that way.  It spotlights a privately funded jury selection method from San Francisco and shows when it was discovered that many people could not leave their paying jobs to be on a jury at $15 a day.  By paying $100 a day, authorities were able to create an acceptably diverse group for a jury.
