• Trees taller than 6 feet must be cut into lengths of 5 to 6 feet or smaller.
• Remove all lights, tinsel, ornaments, nails, and tree stands. Flocked or artificial trees will not be accepted.

Single Family Homes

• Place your tree at the curb next to your organics, recycling, and trash carts on your regular pick-up day during the month of January.

Multi-family Properties:

• Trees may be placed at a designated area on your property such as the parking lot or near the trash enclosure (if access to the enclosure is not blocked and still accessible by the truck), or trees may be placed curbside near the green organics cart.
• For properties with 100 or more units, you may order a free roll-off box for residents to use for their holiday trees. Call 510-613-8700 to order a holiday tree roll-off box.

Please note: Free holiday tree collection takes place in January only up until the last regular collection day. After that, clean trees need to be cut up to fit inside the green organic’s container.
