The election was held Tuesday, November 2, 2021, to fill the vacancy left by the  resignation of Council Member Christian Patz. The successful candidate, COURTNEY WELCH, will serve the remainder of the term, which will expire in December of 2024.

WHO CAN VOTE

You must be registered to vote and a resident of Emeryville. Voters qualify for registration by being a U.S. citizen, age 18 years or older, and neither in prison nor on parole for a felony conviction.

Re-registration is required if you have moved since you last registered, changed your name, or changed your political party affiliation.

The registration deadline is 15 days before an election. You may register to vote online at the California Secretary of State’s Website. For more information, contact the Emeryville City Clerk’s office at (51) 596-7800 or contact the Alameda County Registrar of Voters at 510-272-6933.

HOW THE VOTE HAPPENS

In response to COVID-19, the California State Legislature mandated that all Registered Voters receive a Vote by Mail Ballot for the November 2nd, 2021 City of Emeryville Special Election. The Emeryville Senior Center, 4321 Salem St Emeryville will be the Accessible Voting Location (AVL) available for Accessible Voters who need assistance or a voter who needs to replace a damaged or lost Vote by Mail Ballot. The AVL is open to all Voters starting Saturday, October 30th, 2021.
