Members are warmly invited to attend Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) & Action Team meetings as we analyze local ballot measures every Thursday evening from 6:45 to 8 PM through the first week of September. We will rely on diverse perspectives and standpoints to discuss ballot measures, and as always, use our League of Women Voters positions as the basis of all recommendations. These recommendations will then be taken up by the League of Women Voters of Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville’s Board for a vote.

Measures that reflect a socioeconomic or political issue that the League of Women Voters has a position on, will be supported or opposed based on our carefully-researched positions. Measures that reflect a matter that we have not studied and developed a position on, we cannot take under consideration and the vote will indicate that we have no position on the matter. If there are serious disagreements about a particular measure, the League of Women Voters of Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville will remain neutral on that ballot measure.

Proponents of measures are welcome to stop by to engage in the discussion. Due to limited time, we again ask that campaigners give us a heads up and try to limit their measure advocacy if possible to 20 minutes in the event they have much to convey and we have questions to ask.
