The LWVBAE Board stepped up to meet the COVID-19 crisis by “social distancing” last Monday, 3/16, at its first ever Board meeting by virtual teleconferencing!

All 8 Board members – Bay Area League Representative Ken Bukowski, Communications Director Linda Carothers, Treasurer Cynthia Chen, Action Director Jinky Gardner, President Ruby MacDonald, Secretary Elise Mills, and Directors Kandea Mosley and Adena Ishii — seemed pleased at being able to comply with the Governor’s and local officials’ directives issued the same day to “flatten the curve” and “come together by moving apart”.

In addition time was saved and for some, the gas, driving to the Office at 2530 San Pablo for their monthly, 7 – 9 pm board meeting.

Highlights of the meeting were a report delivered with customary enthusiasm by Action Director Jinky Gardner on the LWVBAE sponsored event Mar. 5 at Berkeley Technology Academy or B-Tech and a discussion of plans to modify the format of regular Team meetings and the upcoming Annual Meeting in the face of social distancing restrictions that could last into the summer.
