Your donation helps interns and fellows at the League of Women Voters of Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville keep delivering amazing community service, including expanding local pro-democracy gains. Interns and former interns helped lead the campaign to lower the voting age to 16 in Albany in city council and school board elections. They also executed the first Berkeley school board candidate forum in the first year when 16 and 17-year-olds could exercise their right to vote for school board members. They accomplished all of this while observing government meetings, conducting voter outreach, writing most of the League’s articles, interviewing electeds, and speaking up about issues that matter most.
