The Red Card and Immigrants’ Rights

red cardsAlongside other organizations, League of Women Voters of California is here to offer helpful Immigration Rapid Response Resources called “red cards”. These cards can be lawfully used to help with the fear and uncertainty surrounding raids and other activity that may occur in your community. The cards provide instructions on how to respond if an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer comes to your neighborhood. In addition to these cards, we have provided a list of Rapid Response phone numbers and other contact information to use in case of an emergency.

Red cards will be available outside of our League of Women Voters of Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville (LWVBAE) office at 2530 San Pablo Ave, Suite F, Berkeley, CA 94702. If it’s easier for you to print them out at home, you can visit https://www.ilrc.org/red-cards-tarjetas-rojas, this website has PDF versions of the red cards in multiple languages for you to print. You can also find a list of Rapid Response contacts at https://www.ccijustice.org/carrn.

These resources can help navigate legal, social, and emergency situations more efficiently, ensuring you have the necessary information at your fingertips. We hope this information can help you feel more prepared during this difficult time.
