National Night Out Block Parties

Multiple Locations throughout Berkeley

National Night Out is a nation-wide event designed to support local anti-crime and drug prevention programs, overall strengthening neighborhood spirit. Find a Berkeley block party near you here. Two featured block parties are the following:

The Berkeley’s Recreation Division in partnership with McGee Ave. Baptist Church is hosting a Stop the Violence Block Party on McGee Avenue between Oregon and Stuart Streets from 3 to 7 pm to promote non-violence and encourage South Berkeley residents to unite as a supportive community and focus on youth and families in the neighborhood.

The Berkeley Marina in partnership with Skates Restaurant celebrates National Night out from 5 to 8 pm in Horseshoe Park. Music and refreshments will be provided while supplies last in an effort to bring the neighborhood together and promote a safe, cohesive, resilient community at the Waterfront.

Sun, Aug 27 – SAVE THE DATE!

“Fall” Luncheon in a Garden

UCB Botanical Gardens, Centennial Drive, Berkeley

We’re trying something new. We’ll be having lunch and taking tours of the very much expanded UC Botanical Garden. The early date means some of us will be able to use the UCB shuttle bus to the Garden and avoid driving, parking, paying. Read more here. We’ll also be voting on a new membership fee schedule and whether to explore proportional representation in our cities. Find out more here.

Program Director Jessica Powell would love your help planning and carrying out this fun plan. Contact her to volunteer.
